Laser hair removal is based on the principle of photothermolysis. The medical Alexandrite laser (Class 4) produces a single wavelength, making it extremely precise and more effective than other hair removal techniques. It is a popular option for its effectiveness and its ability to selectively target hair follicles while protecting the skin. It is essential that the treatment is performed by a qualified professional to ensure safe and effective results.
Aesthetic Diode
Aesthetic Diodes (Class 1 to 3) are of lower power compared to Class 4 lasers. Their effectiveness is lower than that of medical lasers, and the number of sessions is greater. In most cases, it will take more than 15 sessions to achieve results.
Pulsed Light
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is not a laser. It is a technology of light flashes. Its light spectrum is broader and therefore less precise than a laser. Low-power machines are often used by beauticians. In most cases, pulsed light simply weakens the germ cell.
Electric Hair Removal
This technique involves sending an electric shock into the hair bulb. This method requires treating hair by hair and is therefore longer and more invasive than the laser. It is also more painful and is more appropriate for small areas to be treated.

Are there risks associated with the laser?
Rest assured, the laser emits no UV or X-rays, only targeted infrared light. Therefore, the effects are limited to redness or very rare temporary small scabs, easily soothed with an Aloe Vera gel.
